Welcome to our web site!

I have learned that it takes a long time and much research to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease.  I plan to go into Microbiology to assist in this field for it is a dreadful disease.
My Grandmother had it and lived in our home until her death. When she stopped giving me hugs it was so hard but my love took over.  What about those that have noone?  I must do something that could help others in the stages of this disease.   My career is detailed on these pages and with a click of the mouse informatuion can be obtained.  I will continue learning and with a college degree "I will do my very best" to advance the help needed to find a cure. "The best way to predict the future is to invent it." -  Alan Kay.  I have enjoyed making this web page because the more I learn the more I can help.

On this home page, we'll introduce our links to valuable sites and highlight important areas in those sites.  "Sid Gilman, director of the Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, concurred. ''The images are pretty dramatic,'' he said, ''and what they show is very important.'' With 10 million Alzheimer's cases expected in the United States by 2025, progress is vital. How Many New Cases of AD Were There in 1995?
How Many New Cases May Occur in the Future?

Researchers recently projected the number of new cases of AD that could occur every year over the next 50 years if current population trends continue and no preventive treatments emerge. They estimate that the number of new cases every year will double between 1995 and 2050 - from 377,000 to 959,000. Two factors will combine to cause this large increase:
  • The fact that the risk of AD increases as people get older.
  • The growing numbers of older people, especially those over 85.

The annual number of new cases will begin to climb sharply around the year 2040, when all the baby boomers will be over 65.We'll use this site to provide the background for our business and explain the goods or services we have to offer. People don't want to spend time figuring out what a business does, so our home page will highlight the most important features of both our business and our web site. We'll think of the home page as a kind of portal, giving customers the information they want at a glance, and offering lots of links to draw them in to the rest of the site.

For example, we might feature a different item on the home page each month, along with a link to our products page where you can find more information on the product. "http://www.alzheimers.org/unraveling/02.htm"

Here we may display a picture of this years progress!

More than 34 million people are now age 65 or older. This number is 13 percent of the total population of the U.S. The percentage of people over age 65 will increase rapidly over the next few years as the "baby boom" generation reaches 65. In addition, the group of people over 85 - the group with the highest risk of Alzheimer's disease - is the fastest growing segment of the population. By 2050, 14 million older Americans are expected to have Alzheimer's disease if the current numbers hold and no preventive treatments become available. "http://www.alzheimers.org/unraveling/02.htm"
